As of Q2 2026 the BRAIAIN Buildout Index stands at 647.7 (base: Q1 2022 = 100). The underlying combined flow — big-4 hyperscaler capital expenditure plus NVIDIA data-center revenue — grew from $39.4B to $255.0B per quarter over those 18 quarters, a 55.2% compound annual rate, including a dip to 97.7 in Q1 2023 before the post-ChatGPT acceleration.

Index(q) = 100 × [capex(MSFT)+capex(GOOGL)+capex(AMZN)+capex(META)+DC revenue(NVDA)](q) ÷ [same sum in Q1 2022]. Component definitions follow each company's filings (see the capex page). The two component types overlap — hyperscaler chip purchases appear in both their capex and NVIDIA's revenue — so the sum is a gross, overlapping flow, not de-duplicated market spending, and the index is a measure of reported buildout intensity rather than a market total. NVIDIA fiscal quarters are mapped to the nearest calendar quarter (~1 month offset). The index was launched Oct 2026 with base Q3 2025 = 100 and re-based the same week to Q1 2022 = 100 when the back-series was completed; the changelog records this. Re-based within days of each earnings season.
